Buddy Dyer has been re-elected mayor of the City of Orlando.
Dyer faced three challengers – including candidate Mike Cantone, who identifies as bisexual – but was able to claim 57% of the vote in the April 3 general elections. If no candidates had received more tha 50% of the votes, there would have been a run-off election in May.
Cantone received the least number of votes, at 3%.
Candidate Phil Diamond received 28% and candidate Ken Mulvaney received 11% of the vote.
This will be Dyer’s third full term as Orlando’s mayor.
