No more iron is being pumped at the popular downtown location of Metro 25/7 Gym on E. Robinson St.
According to gym co-owner Marciano Weber, the gym has been forced to vacate the location with less than 24 hours.
“We're in the middle of a lawsuit,” he said. “There's a lot at stake, especially since we've been a pivotal business for gay lesbian community downtown for eight years. We're not being treated properly.”
The owners rent the facility that houses the gym. Weber said there is a hole in the roof and potholes in the parking lot.
“These are things we have no control over and money we pay monthly should have taken care of,” he said. “[The landlords] are not spending money, but we're losing members because the building is falling apart.”
Weber said they're currently looking for new locations downtown and members can use any of the other 25/7 locations.
“We did not intend to leave, we don't want to leave and we're coming back,” he said. “It's just a matter of getting the facility.”
