Club Pulse management and Orlando police are keeping a close eye on the club itself and the surrounding neighborhoods. Pulse is located on South Orange Avenue and its popularity has led to complaints from neighboring residents about unruly late-night behavior.
“There was a handful of loud noise complaints from the neighborhood as well as some littering concerns, public urination, things of that sort,” said Orlando Police Officer Edgar Malave.
Malave led a meeting on May 18 where 25-30 people showed up to express some concerns. He said as a result of the discussion, both the police and Pulse management are making some changes.
“Our deputy chief is changing operational details so more officers can work that detail,” said Malave. “The club owner has already made changes to the speakers and the doors and security has been given more direction [on how to deal with unruly patrons].”
He said off-duty officers will also patrol the neighborhoods once the club lets out to make sure customers don’t loiter.
Pulse owner Ron Legler did not return e-mails for comment.
