After they were rescheduled due to street closures related to the Republican National Convention in August, the “girls” of Kinsey Sicks will finally return to the Tampa Theatre on Thursday, Oct. 25.
Electile Dysfunction: The Kinsey Sicks for President features the popular dragapella group Kinsey Sicks in a realm of musical political satire that will surely delight and offend throngs of fans. The group has toured the United States for years in a number of shows, which rework classic songs to fit the messages of the performers.
Now, The Kinsey Sicks will put a political spin on their acapella talents all while raising money for the Tampa International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.
“We are thrilled that The Kinsey Sicks was able to reschedule and come to Tampa,” said TIGLFF executive director Larry Biddle. “They are one of those don’t-miss acts that you just have to see when they come to town.”
Not only do Winnie, Rachel, Trampolina and Trixie tackle issues like immigration, unemployment, scandal, sex, pandering and corruption, they do it all in amazing four-part harmony.
The Kinsey Sicks most recently appeared in Tampa last December with Oy Vey in a Manger at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts, lampooning traditional holiday carols.
The new show features songs like “Sell the Poor,” “Eliminate the Schools,” and the campaign anthem, “Vote for Me (I'm Not From Kenya).”
This benefit performance for the Tampa International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival is at 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25 at the Tampa Theatre, 711 N. Franklin St. Tickets are available at TampaTheatre.org/Kinsey-Sicks, at the box office or by calling 813-274-8981.
