Silver Glass Productions, along with Sacred Grounds Coffeehouse, held a fundraiser Friday, Jan 21, for the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network.
The event, dubbed, “Take Power: Speak Out,” brought together Tampa artists and survivors who shared personal stories of gay bullying and hatred.
“The purpose is to get young people to speak,” said Jeremy McDonald, co-creator of the event. “If one person’s affected, everyone’s affected.”
Silver Glass and Robin Doty Law matched donations for the fundraiser which brought the total to $620. All proceeds will go to the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network. GLSEN’s mission is to address anti-LGBT behavior and bias in schools.
