Pet Pride moves to April 7

Pet Pride moves to April 7

To avoid Florida's sweltering summer heat, the Fourth Annual Pet Pride has been moved to the more comfortable date of April 7.

This year's parade of fabulous pets is Saturday, April 7, from 4-10 p.m. along Beach Boulevard South. This year's celebration is organized by Pet Pride Magazine, St. Pete Pride and the newly formed Pets4Dorothy, which assists financially struggling LGBT pet owners with veterinary needs.

In recognition of St. Pete Pride's theme of “Carnivale,” participants in the pet parade are encouraged to dress their pets appropriately, while local celebrity judges select the 2012 King and Queen of the pets. Winners will be crowned at the celebration.

Other activities include live entertainment by local musical acts, silent auctions with high end merchandise and vendor booths featuring pet-friendly businesses and organizations.
