Gainesville pastor hangs effigy of Obama

The Secret Service is investigating  Pastor Terry Jones’ Dove World Outreach Center for hanging a dummy of President Barack Obama outside of its church. Jones made headlines last year for his very public burning of the Koran.

This time, Jones' very public protest was against President Barak Obama and was fueled by the president's recent support for same-sex marriage.

“President Obama’s policies on same-sex marriage, his policies on abortion, President Obama has no problem killing babies. He has no problem supporting radical Islam, he has no problem supporting and giving financial support to the Muslim Brotherhood…” Jones wrote on his site. “It is time for the United States to stand up.”

Once the secret service became involved, Jones and his church replaced the hanging replica of the president with a dummy representing Uncle Sam. The Obama mannequin is now standing next to the gallows waving a Pride flag.

“We have chosen the hanging of Uncle Sam to represent how Hussein Obama is destroying our nation,” Jones continues. ” And that is why we have now chosen the hanging of Hussein Obama to represent how the American people must, in a peaceful way, stand up and reject President Obama, reject his anti-American policies.”

Regardless, the secret service isn't taking the symbolic gesture lightly.

“The Secret Service is aware of this incident and will conduct appropriate follow-up,” Secret Service spokesman Brian Leary told the Huffington Post.
