EQFL honors Lowe-Minor at Tallahassee gala
Jessica Lowe-Minor, executive director of the League of Women Voters in Florida, was honored during the Equality Florida Gala in Tallahassee on April 17. Equality Florida Executive Director Nadine Smith described Lowe-Minor as a “steadfast supporter of equal rights or all and a leading voice in Tallahassee for women, LGBT rights and basic fairness in public policy.” The gala was held inside the Historic Florida Capitol Museum.
PrideFEST goes on despite rain
The annual PrideFEST celebration in Tallahassee went on despite fighting rainy weather the weekend of April 20-11. More than 50 vendors participated in this year's celebration of LGBT contributions to culture and the state. The intimate event brought out approximately 1,000 revelers, who enjoyed the street festival, several parties and a drag show.
