Gay-inclusive church Hope Unites United Church of Christ was the victim of a burglary. According to a police report, on July 28 someone entered the locked, empty church and stole musical instruments, flat screen televisions and janitorial supplies. The suspect may have been on a spree because police say he or she left behind some trail mix that was missing from a neighboring business that same night. Two dollies and a shovel were also submitted as evidence. There is no description of the suspect.
Reverend Linn Possell reported that the musical instruments mostly were owned by individual church members and an entire sound system was also stolen.
“Our members and friends left work and came down to the church to help and secure the building,” Possell reported in an email update on the crime. “Please consider helping us financially as we try to recover from this incident.”
