Two Tampa residents are looking for donations while they support the AIDS LifeCycle 9, a June benefit in California.
On May 2, Dean Hurst and Dawn Heideman will represent the Tampa Bay area at the annual 545-mile bike ride to raise money for AIDS research. To help fund their trip, Hurst and Heideman will present “Art Pedalers,” a collaborative fundraiser to raise local awareness of the event. Money will also be donated to Francis House, Tampa’s local AIDS non-profit.
Several local artists and bands will be on hand throughout the Sunday event. Have Gun Will Travel and indie favorite GreyMarket will perform at the Ritz Ybor from 6 p.m. to midnight. Other bands will also appear.
Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com for $15 and The Ritz Ybor box office. This marks the third year that Heideman and Hurst have participated in the ride. For more information, visit AIDSLifeCycle.org.
