The first-ever electronic music festival on Florida’s gulf coast will arrive on Thursday, July 16, when The Vinyl Music Festival brings DJs from around the country to Sarasota.
The festival, created by community leader Matt Orr, will run four days and will feature more than 25 artists from around the globe. In all, 10 venues will take part in the massive gathering of DJs and their fans.
The Vinyl Music Festival was launched by the HuB, a group of entrepreneurs whose mission is to infuse the community with the vibrancy of the creative and tech industries. “We have several goals in mind,” said HuB co-founder Orr. “The Festival will bring new energy to an already vibrant artistic city and provide a new social experience for residents of all ages.”
The Vinyl Music Festival is being promoted and sponsored by a long list of local sponsors, merchants and media with the goal to attract visitors while also promoting local and regional artists. The diverse group of sponsors ranges from Budweiser and Syambalan Vodka to the Sarasota Opera. The queer TV network LOGO is scheduled to cover the event.
“Or course, we expect the Vinyl Music Festival to have a positive effect on the cultural and economic development of Sarasota as an ever-emerging city with a strong arts & culture brand,” Orr said.
The featured international DJ artists include Paul Mendez, currently rated the No. 3 House DJ in the world; Diamond, a high-energy blonde bombshell DJ to the stars; Master Jay coming directly to us from Doha, Qatar in the Middle East; Drager, the No. 3 ranked Electro House DJ in the US; and DeeJay Barry who has been rocking crowds worldwide for 10 years.
