ST. PETERSBURG | Tampa Bay comedian Jeff Klein will take his live performance of his series “Beer with a Queer” to the 2026 Edinburgh Festival Fringe this August.
Klein is known for his “Fatty Gay” comedy special on Amazon and “Beer with a Queer” YouTube series, which now has over 180 episodes.
Klein’s “Beer with a Queer: LIVE” made its Tampa International Fringe Festival debut in 2025, and he had previously premiered his one-man show “Beige Glitter: gay but not good at it” at Tampa Fringe in 2024.
The success of his live production of “Beer with a Queer” has pushed him to take the concept overseas. Klein plans to host the show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this year and he has opened a GoFundMe campaign to help him get to Scotland.
“Beer with a Queer: LIVE” is a five-part show wherein Klein tries local beers on stage while openly sharing his coming out story and journey with trying to fit into the LGBTQ+ community. Klein also opens the floor for an audience Q&A and eventually pulls an audience member to interview about their life.
“As I navigate my first time at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, I am learning the upfront costs and turning to the community that’s been supporting me in my career to see if they want to support more,” Klein says. “I have been shocked and elated with the help so far and can’t wait to have this experience showcase beige gays everywhere.”
His trip to Scotland will not be his first, as Klein has attended the Edinburgh Festival Fringe since he was 16. He returns in August with the live adaptation of his festival show.
“Almost 30 years later, I am in a profession that can be celebrated at Edinburgh Fringe,” Klein shares. “I am far enough in my career to have a show at Edinburgh Fringe, and I have a show that I believe in enough to take to Edinburgh Fringe.”
