ST. PETERSBURG | Iberian Rooster announced Feb. 18 that it would permanently close Feb. 27 after a final drag brunch.
The Portugese fusion restaurant and speakeasy opened in 2016 and quickly became a St. Petersburg staple. The venue hosted a number of LGBTQ-inclusive and focused events and evenings throughout its tenure.
Owner Russell Andrade first shared the news via social media.
“I hope everyone is staying safe and sane during this pandemic period,” he wrote. “I just wanted to let everyone know that the Rooster will be closing permanently on Feb 27th, after our final drag brunch hosted by Adriana Sparkle. It has been a long crazy ride and we had a lot of fun serving the St. Pete community … My family and I wish you the best and hope you’ll stop in over the next week to say hello.”
In addition to drag brunch, Iberian will hold a final open mic night, a comedy night and an “entertainment extravaganza.” You can view Andrade’s full announcement with more details below:
