Marty Fugate, aka Leigh Shannon, may be coming to small screens near you. The legendary female impersonator posted on his Facebook page last week, that he is in pre-negotiations for a reality show based on his life. “I want to do it, but [it's] kind of scary,” he posted. “I think [reality shows] are the way to go anymore.” Shannon says he is set to record three episodes with a production company abroad alongside executive producer Sandi Bell. “It will be about my upbringing in a redneck rural environment and family up to today with my shows, new acting venture, my store, cancer patients and the everyday struggles of a business man/show girl/drag queen and finding out I have a black sister,” Shannon laughs. He recently made his big-screen debut in My Fair Lidy, which was filmed in Orlando, in February.
This Track Is LadyGuy's
Former Orlando party starter, LadyGuy Disco Diva, is taking his larger than life persona to the recording studio. Earlier this month, he released his very first dance/music track. The track “My Moment to Shine,” by Oren Nizri, features LadyGuy's oh-so recognizable vocals. “[I'm working] to have the video done for the track,” says the Disco Diva. In June, LadyGuy represented Orlando by riding in a vehicle during the St. Pete Pride parade. The paparazzi clearly couldn't get enough as LadyGuy's multi-colored mane appeared on numerous news channels, publications, and even radio interviews. Up next, LadyGuy is set to be featured on the August cover of South Florida's Ambiente Magazine. Need a fierce fix? Winter Park Playhouse is uniting out vocalist Tim Evanicki and Priscilla Bagley for their Spotlight Cabaret Series July 25 and 26. Those Who Can”¦ Duet, with Chris Leavy at the piano, will feature a wide range of musical styles, from classical pieces to jazz standards to Broadway favorites. Evanicki is a Julliard graduate, a well-known voice teacher, and owner and founder of Starving Artist Studios. This will be the first time Evanicki has been on The Playhouse stage since appearing in Grand Night for Singing and Celebrate Me Home in 2010. “Tim and Priscilla are two of the finest singers in Central Florida and we are honored to showcase their incredible talent at the Playhouse!” states Heather Alexander, Winter Park Playhouse Executive Director in a statement.
