New Decade, new logo for Urban Body
Shortly after celebrating his 10th year in business, Urban Body owner Scott Moore had another announcement to make to his loyal fan base. Urban Body Clothing, as it is now called, has a brand, spankin’ new logo. The handsome, muscled Moore threw a party for the decade-old clothing store on Thursday, Oct. 21, in its SoHo Tampa location. Several friends and customers stopped by to wish Moore and his staff well and comment on new fall designs for both men and women. TBBG to honor Iorio
Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio will leave her office in March after two very successful and LGBT-friendly terms in office. So it’s no surprise that the Tampa Bay Business Guild wants to honor the mayor at its annual Awards Banquet on Tuesday, Nov. 9. According to Cory Jeffries, president of the Guild, the organization will honor Iorio with its Citizen of the Year award at the Center Club at 123 S. Westshore Blvd., in Tampa. The 6:30 p.m. event will also give the guild a chance to announce its Outstanding Community Volunteer, Outstanding LGBT Organization, Outstanding TBBG Volunteer, Outstanding LGBT Ally of the Year and its President’s Award. A “Walking” coalition
It seems the Tampa Bay community has taken notice of teen bullying. Since a walk through downtown St. Petersburg in October brought out 200 or so participants, a new coalition has formed to offer help to middle and high school students who are bullied. Currently called “Tampa Bay Safe Haven Against Bullying,” the coalition has already set some short-term goals. To volunteer or participate in the brand new group, attend its next meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 2, at Trinity United Church of Christ at 1150 49th St. N., St. Petersburg.
