Orlando contestant on Project Runway
He’s not gay, but the first Central Florida contestant on Project Runway may as well be. Adorable actor/designer Jesse Lenoir, 25, performed in The Little Dog Laughed at the Parliament House last year, and is well known in the tres gay local theater community. Lenoir’s audition video for the show (viewable at mylifetime.com/shows/project-runway) opened with him stating that he should be chosen “because I’m not gay”… right before a man rolls over on top of him in bed. Lenoir has auditioned for Runway before, but this time the judges were won over by his unconventional party dresses, and possibly his presentation outfit—dress shirt, tie, button down sweater and jean shorts… topped off with Clark Kent glasses. Lenoir may not be gay, but he’ll be great television. Project Runway premiers on Lifetime on Jan. 14.

Props to Hoops
At one time, many in Orlando would’ve listed Cheryl “Hoops” Hooper near the top of their list of “Least Likely Lesbians to Have a Baby.” But times change, and on Dec. 11 Hoops gave birth to a 6 lb. 14 oz. baby girl named “Bailey.” In the l980s and 90s, the uber-butch Hoops was just about the only woman welcome at the Full Moon Saloon. She mixed it up on the softball field, and then matched shots with the gay boys at the bar.  Several years ago Hoops moved to Mississippi, where she will raise Bailey as a single mom. But at least one thing hasn’t changed—the baby was conceived by artificial insemination.

Keeping up appearances
In a totally unrelated story, it appears that women are just as uptight about the appearance of their genitals as men. The International Society of Cosmetogynecology will hold its first-ever Global Symposium on ‘genital cosmetic surgery’ on Jan. 26 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando. According to their press release, “the Society has assembled the world leaders in aesthetic vaginal surgery to share their expertise. Topics range from simple cosmetic vaginal operations to (their words here) cutting edge techniques.”
