The Aging Institute at Florida Atlantic University and Sunserve are surveying South Florida's LGBT seniors to learn more about their needs and the challenges faced by their caregivers.
Mark Ketcham, Sunserve's executive director, said there's a large population of LGBT seniors in the Fort Lauderdale area, and that means his agency is getting more calls for help. Sunserve is a support organization for LGBT seniors and caregivers that offers support groups, counseling, a senior center, outreach and other services.
Ketcham said their goal is to learn how their client base would like the services delivered.
The surveys one for seniors and one for caregivers can be found at Sunserve.org/seniors. They end Oct. 31.
