The PRIDE Alliance at the University of South Florida held its annual drag show featuring USF students and local performers from throughout the Tampa Bay community on March 11.
The amateur and professional performances brought out more than 500 students to the MSC Ballroom, just a month after a conservative group targeted the university’s “Queer Theory” course. Both female and male impersonators were on hand to entertain the crowd.
Entry to the show was free and Raymond James supplied soft drinks to students. Organizers have deemed the annual event a success. The PRIDE Alliance promotes tolerance and understanding among LGBT and straight students at the school.
